  2. it depends i would reccomend a 256mg card either PCI-E or AGP thos u can get around 60-70 bucks but if u want something eles ur looking at something like 1 grand for a 1gig graphic card
  3. plz give more details abt ur computer.otherwise nobody can answer ur question.if ur motherboard supports pci cards then go for geforce 8600 or 8800 graphic cards.
  4. Depends on what you're updating too. the newer Nvidia cards are good but expensive. It also depends on what you're upgrading for. Gaming? you're gonna want a good one. Regular PC function? You could probably get away with a low grade one.
  5. As long as it's a desktop computer with any kind of graphics card slot, it's easy. If it's an old computer with a PCI slot, you buy a PCI card. For an AGP slot, an AGP card. For a PCI-Express slot, a PCI-Express card. Any computer store should have the last two types - original PCI cards are hard to find, and while AGP cards are less common there's still a few around. The cost can be anything from $20 - $600, depending on how powerful a card you want, and how much you have to spend. If you have a notebook, or a desktop with no graphic card slot, you can't upgrade. There are some upgradeable notebooks, but they are as rare as hen's teeth.
  6. You cant upgrad a Video Card, you can overclock it mabe.. Best thing to do is just to get a new one, if your a gamer you might wont to get a video card that can handel all your gameing needs. Not sure what you are useing your computer for Games or just Browsing internet. It all depends on the game or graphics your going to be doing. The more you pay the better the Graphic and Video will be If your not sure I would recommend getting a 512Mb for you computer,it would cost some were around I think they start at $50 to $200 some are more .That will do every thing in high graphic.. I get all my Video Cards from ebay.Thats were I get my prices from Good Luck
  7. #1 Are you sure you need to upgrade your graphics card? If you do not have enough RAM (random access memory) it may cause flickering and pausing making you think you need a better graphics card. First make sure you have the latest driver's from the manufacturer. Next check if your RAM is sufficient. #2 Depends on if its a Desktop or Laptop computer (most laptops have graphics cards built into MotherBoard) try adding more RAM. If the desktop computer has a graphics card slot, it's a breeze. If it does not, no upgrade options. For an AGP slot, an AGP card. For a PCI-Express slot, a PCI-Express card. #3 When shopping remember that Graphics Card w/dedicated memory 32mb+ up to 512mb are always better then ones that use Shared Memory (means card uses memory that you already have) thus slowing things down even more! #4 shopping after those steps go to cnet.com to look at whats options you have as well as read reviews. then shop around for the best deal, newegg.com amazon.com ect If you want to verify what motherboard you have or other system info you can goto crucial.com click on system scanner and it will tell you info such as: System Manufacturer: Compaq-Presario System Model: GN720AA-ABA SR5254X Motherboard Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC. Motherboard Model: Lancaster8 which you may need to verify your graphics card is compatable. For the install which varies depending on your motherboard you can do a search on google or youtube for instructions on how to upgrade to the new card yourself, take it to a shop or have an in home tech come to you. Or take advantage of the support offered by the manufacturer of the product you've purchased. Good Luck!
