Is ATi graphics card compatible with intel core 2 duo processor?

I bought Nvidia 7300 LE before but the 3D performance in vista is very low. Though my processor is core2duo 2.13Ghz with 2 G memory, i didnt able to have a glass aero coz my 3D performance is very low as it says. So i planned to buy ATi coz my friends Laptop Ati 1100 has very high 3D performance in Vista. Is ATi really great in 3D performance? Will it be compatible with intel motherboard and processor? coz i learned that its the partner of AMD Mobo. Thanks

1. its maybe because the card you bought is an LE model these tend to be the budget cheaper cards that have slower memory. you would be better buying a GT or GTX version
2. Yea 7300LE isnt the best gfx card by any means. ATI cards will work with an intel processor and mobo but you will not be able to do Crossfire.
3. I have a very similar system to yours but i use the e6600 processor, my graphics card is the Asus7600GS Nvidia Geforce and my 3D Graphics are fabulous. hope this helps.
