Which is better in graphics card ATI or Nvidia?

Me and my friend is always complaining about which graphics card is better. My friend thinks its Nvidia but I go for ATI yeeeh! i want to prove him wrong. Just what is the best graphics card for the best graphics card in each of the two brands.

Nvidia is just hyped up more than the others. BUT, they are both good top quality brands who support the latest graphics cards.
5. usually Nvidia makes better graphic cards. But their chipset drivers suck. I use an ATI its not bad, but people say Nvidia compared to ATI is little bit cheaper in price.
6. It all depends on the graphics cards, and what games you use it for. Some games run better on ATI, others run better on nvidia. But I always go with ATI because they have always been a little cheaper and you still get around the same performance out of them. Plus I usually buy an aftermarket cooler and overclock it a little bit, and end up with better performance.
7. I Like ATi never had a card die on me, cant say the same for Nvidia :P But using an ATi card on smaller operating systems can be a pain... So Windows/Mac then its going to be an ATi Card. But Linux/BSD/Skyos/etc. Its going to be an Nvidia... But who else unlike good old AMD/ATi would release their new chip (HD 3850) for the aging AGP slots :P Long live my Quad Xeon gaming rig :P

9. well dont argument to your friend coz i think you both are right. ATI Provide good performance with AMD cpu Nvidia provide u good performance with INTEl and its depand which model u both r compareing coz if you have lower ATI card He's useing higher or latest nvidia card then ofcorse he can say he's card better then u. a simple option is here u both r slect ur own model in ATI and Nvidia then u can compare ur models on online benchmark :)
10. Why are you talking about companies when you want to decide which is the better card. Look at what you wrote again. "Me and my friend is always complaining about which graphics card is better. My friend thinks its NVIDIA but I go for ATI" If you want to "complaining" about which card is better, list CARDS, not companies. You should be arguing over the 8600GT vs the 2600XT. Or the 8800GT vs the 3870. Those are CARDS. To argue over which is the better company because of the cards they put out is dumb. Both sides have plenty of bad cards. To argue over the companies, talk about more then just product placement.
