Does 512mb Ati radeon graphics card work on dell computers with Vista operating system?

Has anyone had this problem aswell? When I put the card in the computer and plug the monitor cable into the graphics card slot, nothing appears, I mean the windows working but the monitor black. I have Ati Radeon x1600 PRO and I am running windows vista?

1. Is your card plugged in correctly? Does your power supply have enough power for the graphics card? You will need at least a 400W power supply If it doesn't work then take it back to your dealer and request a new one.Some cards require you to plug in a power connector.Check if its plugged in How strong is your power supply?
