Graphics Upgrade

Can a PC with an ATI Graphics card be updated to one with a nVidia graphics card?

...or do you have to upgrade to another ATI Graphics card?

  1. You can always put in a PCI-express Nvidia card to replace your ATI card. (Desktop, not laptop that is)
  2. Generally, Yes. You can use any graphics card with the proper slot. AGP to any AGP PCI-E to any PCI-E
  3. If you have PCI or PCIe expansion slots then you can upgrade to any video card you want
  4. As long as the card is compadible with the slot you plan to stick it in. I had an nVidia 5200 in my old computer and put in a much nicer ATI with no probs what so ever.
