Graphics Upgrade

Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card in an IBM Thinkpad R51?

I'm wanting to play WoW. Unfortunately, I can't afford a new computer, so I want to upgrade the graphics card. I have 2 laptops. One is a dell Inspiron 1100, and the other one is a IBM thinkpad R51. Can I upgrade the graphics card in either one of them? The dell laptop has Intel Extreme graphics, and the IBM has Intel Extreme graphics 2.

  1. No. You can't. There's no point explaining why but you can't.
  2. Most laptops use a chip set for graphics not a graphics card, although some models have a new version which is more like a cut back version of graphics card. If your laptop parts are upgradeable they are usually custom or made to fit with no wasted space so you could possibly upgrade if there is a better version of the exact part. asus does have an external graphics card for laptops this would be your best bet, it also means you can hook it to any laptop. http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=162&l3=0&l4=0&model=1557&modelmenu=1
  3. nearly impossible to do with a laptop
