What is the best AGP graphics card available at a reasonable price?

Currently have a Geforce 5200 and want to upgrade

  1. Define "reasonable." What's "reasonable" to me may not be "reasonable" to you. www.newegg.com
  2. It just depends on what you think resonable is. If you are going to be doing gaming or watching High Def movies on your computer. I think resonable is $300. You can get a EVGA 8800gts 320MB and 320bit for that price and it will do pretty much anthing you want it to. But you'll want to make sure you get a card with more MB if you are putting a movie on a big screen. Bigger the screen the more MB you'll need. I hope this helps!
  3. although agp cards are getting old and you should probably upgrade to faster pci-e solution.....the best agp card available now would the Radeon X800 GTO 128MB(If you can find one!) or the slightly dated albeit extremely worthy geforce 6600 gt...both are priced reasonably at around 125 us $ The specs are as follows Radeon X800 GTO 128MB Codename: R420, 13 micron technology 12 Pixel shaders, six Vertex shaders, 12 Texture units, 12 Raster operations processors 256 bit memory bus 400 MHz core, 350 MHz DDR (700 MHz Effective) Memory (I'd recommend this card...runs newer games very well although it doesn't support sm 3.0...but a very good package) Geforce 6600 GT Codename: NV43, 10 micron technology 8 pipelines 128 bit memory bus 500 MHz core, 500 MHz DDR (1000 MHz effective) Memory In case you're running on a low budget then you may consider going in for a Radeon X1600 or Radeon X700
  4. you need to try using nivida 6600 AGP Card but it's hard to find now because all the new Graphic Card is PCI-Express
  5. I would have to say EVGA GeForce 7800. Yes i realize its not "Top dog". but for gaming and running other applications like CAD, it will do what you want and then some. Good reviews and good performance. and only 129.99.
