Will a 128MB AGP graphics card perform better than a 256MB PCI card?
I want to verify whether a lower MB AGP card is still better than a higher MB PCI card. By "better" I mean faster image processing, and better looking graphics. Will it be able to handle higher video settings better? I just want to clarify that I DO mean PCI, and not PCI-E.

- Yes, the AGP graphics card will be better. PCI isn't even in the same class as AGP.
- PCE is the lowest level; then it's AGP, PCI-e 16x, and the newest technology, PCIe 16x 2.0. The last on is primarily for multiple graphics card setup.
- ya it has a faster bus speed. thats a lot of ram for a pci card though (surprised you can get them with this much)
- video ram is used to buffer data going to the chipset. the higher resolution, the more data. this is where more ram is better. agp is better that pci because theres more bandwidth between the card and the chipset. so if u use a high resolutionon your monitor, you should use the 256mb pci card. If not, go with the agp card. hope this helps!
- It really depends on what cards they are. For example, a GeForce FX5500 in PCI could outperform an FX5200 AGP. It's dependent on the cards, not the slot type.
