How do i upgrade graphics in a PCI slot motherboard ?

I have only PCI slots in my motherboard. The graphics setup currently up is a Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics with upto 64MB dynamic video memory. I need to upgrade it without changing my motherboard. But mine has only PCI slot and the new ones don't come with that. How do i upgrade ?

  1. I'm guessing you mean you only have regular PCI slots no PCI-E, old motherboard basically. You can search the internet for the PCI video cards but you will be limited to basically 128meg cards.
  2. They make graphics cards for PCI, make sure its not for AGP or PCI express. You should be fine.
  3. SIMPLE, just buy a PCI compatible graphics card you don't have to new motherboard if thats what you're saying! Once you put the graphics card in they will override the intergrated graphics! Simple huh?
  4. Something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129069 Is about as powerful a PCI video card you can get. Radeon X1300 with 256MB video memory. If you want to spend less, FX5500 or Radeon 9250 cards with 256MB go for about 50-60 dollars at Newegg.
