- Nvidia Are much cooler than ati because of their design of gpu and fan the idle temps are 39 degree c u have 2 options 1. get a nvidia card or get liquid cooling for ur card
- 50 degrees is fine.. its when you when over 89 degrees that is a no no. of course the lower the better, but if it makes you feel any better, my nvidia 9800gt idles at 48-55 with I think 60% fan speed. and this is normal for the card. when playing games it can get to the 70s sometimes (it automatically overclocks though when I open up a game). like i said this is normal for my card. so I dunno you need to compare your temps with others you have your card, google it up like I once did and you will get your answer
- It depends upon the specific model... generally, the higher-performance models run much hotter than less expensive cards. In particular, ATI's Radeon 4850 and 4870 run *VERY* hot... the 4890 introduced a 3rd heatpipe which helped immensely, while the 4770 is a lower power consumption card that runs much cooler. Lower-performance cards like the Radeon 4670, 4650 and Nvidia 9500GT don't generate anywhere near as much heat to begin with.
