Can I Upgrade the Graphics Card on a Dell Dimension C521? And Is This Processor Good For Gaming?
I want to play Half Life 2 but my Inspiron 6000 sucks so I'm getting a new desktop. Here are the specs: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ 2 GB RAM 320 GB HDD Nvidia 6100 LE or something like that (integrated :-X ) Is this processor good for gaming? Since this desktop has a small design, I was wondering if anyone knew if I can upgrade the graphics card to 256 mb or more? Thanks!

- yes to all your questions
- That processor is awsome for gaming and this PC DOES have a 16xPCI-e expansion slot which means you can put a nice graphics card in it just get a PCI-e card and not an AGP card....it also supports ddr2 ram (up to 4gb) which is also good for gaming
- You will however need to make sure that the graphics card you get to replace it with doesn't require extra power from the power supply, this may be called a "PCI-E Power Connector." The power supply in your computer will not have this connector. You can upgrade the power supply, however, but you will need to make sure it's a BTX power supply or ATX/BTX, not ATX! This will add around $80 to the total cost though. See my source for a compatible one that should work. The card will also need to be "low-profile" to fit in your computer properly.
