Graphics Upgrade

Can I Upgrade the Graphics Card on a Dell Dimension C521? And Is This Processor Good For Gaming?

I want to play Half Life 2 but my Inspiron 6000 sucks so I'm getting a new desktop. Here are the specs: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ 2 GB RAM 320 GB HDD Nvidia 6100 LE or something like that (integrated :-X ) Is this processor good for gaming? Since this desktop has a small design, I was wondering if anyone knew if I can upgrade the graphics card to 256 mb or more? Thanks!

  1. yes to all your questions
  2. That processor is awsome for gaming and this PC DOES have a 16xPCI-e expansion slot which means you can put a nice graphics card in it just get a PCI-e card and not an AGP card....it also supports ddr2 ram (up to 4gb) which is also good for gaming
  3. You will however need to make sure that the graphics card you get to replace it with doesn't require extra power from the power supply, this may be called a "PCI-E Power Connector." The power supply in your computer will not have this connector. You can upgrade the power supply, however, but you will need to make sure it's a BTX power supply or ATX/BTX, not ATX! This will add around $80 to the total cost though. See my source for a compatible one that should work. The card will also need to be "low-profile" to fit in your computer properly.
