Can you upgrade your laptops graphics card without cracking it open?
I have a Gateway MT6723 notebook, when I bought the laptop I didn't realize that the graphics card was a piece of junk, is there a way to upgrade the graphics card without opening the laptop up, externally perhaps? I already have Vista installed, runs fine.

- there is always overclocking your hardware making things run faster than there defalt speed have a look at (ati-overdrive) "google it..."
- I dont think if you ever thought of cracking it open you would not probably be able to change your video card because I think it is integrated. I dont know if there are external video cards. Never heard of them.
- No, if you are to scared of dooing it yourself, go to future shop or some other custom computer shop and they will do it for you, profesionnaly! PS if you absolutely want to change yur graphs card, you will have to void your warranty!
- if its onboard video you cant do anything about it :/ most laptops dont even have the slots needed to install newer video cards.
- No. The graphics chips set is included on the main board. Go to the Gateway web site http://www.gateway.com/ Support>Drivers & Downloads then see if they have a driver update. They have some stuff that applies to the graphics chip set, namely for games and for Vista. If it's not on there already though, don't be tempted to even consider putting Vista on this Laptop. Of course I am biased, I wouldn't put Vista on anything! Cracking it open wouldn't help you at all so this is about the only hope.
