- I suggest you get a new computer entirely. Your hard drive is small by today's standards, your RAM will not support many newer applications, and your processor is slow. So, the $70 you spend on a new graphics card will help a bit, but there are so many other weak links with your system that overall, it makes more sense to buy a new system. You can get a decent system nowadays that will run Battlefield 2 and Halo for ~$500 - not at super high resolution, but run them nonetheless. I would look at Dell's outlet. They have a lot of refub computers for cheap that have warranties - a good deal.
- Well you don't need to buy a new computer you can get a 256MB Graphics card. if you like to get some information about this card feel free to visit my website. for more info. click link below.
- I think you'll do better to lobby for a new computer. To play those games you need more upgrades than the video card, and you won't be able to do that for $70 or less, even if you buy just the parts and put them in yourself.
- Go buy a new computer. Your HDD capacity and RAM are woefully inadequate. Your CPU speed of 1.5 GHz is also on the slower side for gaming. Save the graphics card money; sell off your present computer on Craigslist or eBay, and use the proceeds to get a good system.
- i have a problem with emachine my self -i have found that they may cost a few buck lost there is always something going on with them, it was been said their compounds are not class A as far as a new machine verse a new video card on a emachine?----your problem is matching up your motherboard to the video card : go http:www.download.com and download a program call belarc advisor it will tell you all the hardware and software you have on your pc ...check to see what motherboard you have and then check what V/C that you can put in ....check the price of the V/C [video card] ..then you can made a cost of video card to new pc .....good luck
- You might consider an used, reconditioned, or low-end video card and definitely add more RAM. Another option is purchasing an used Xbox. I gave up PC gaming long ago, it's cheaper to buy a game console and rent games. I'll probably wait a year or two before upgrading my PC. For example, a top of the line CPU and video card is needed to run HDTV resolution videos encoded at maximum quality. (in other words, PC technology should improve to handle this). Plus, the best time to buy PC's is back to school sales. Most new CPUs are launched around summertime (and old ones become cheaper).
- if you get new pc then this will be best option if not then you need to upgrade your RAM first to play these high end games coz battlefield needs minimum 512 ram - Video Cards Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards: Radeon X700 (PCIe) Radeon X600 (PCIe) GeForce 6600 (PCIe) GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe) GeForce 5800 Series (AGP) ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition ATI Radeon X800 PRO ATI Radeon 9800 Series ATI Radeon 9600 Series ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX) ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series ATI Radeon 8500 Series ATI Radeon X300 Series NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra NVidia GeForce 6800 GT NVidia GeForce 6800 NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series and they all are high end and mid range gpus, some of them is under 100 $ but above 90$ so you better go for a ram upgrade first instaed of gpu. all i wanted to explain that you cant play such type of game with your exixting ram.
- Personally, I don't think you're going to get much bang for your buck by just upgrading your video card. The present system that you have was pretty good about 5 years ago, but considering the fact that Windows XP runs fairly smoothly with 512MB of RAM...I would say that adding any serious games (anything made in the last 2 years or so) is going to run painfully slow, if at all. Add on to this fact that your present power supply is probably not going to be able to support a really nice video card. eMachine power supplies were HORRIBLE when they first came out (I remember replacing one a week for quite a while). My suggestion, save the $70...make do with what you have for now while you save your money up. When you have a couple hundred saved up (4-500 should do), get on Dell.com and order a pretty decent machine. Anything with around 1GB RAM, 2+ GHz CPU and 80-120GB HDD will do for what you want it for. Good luck.
- Yea I play Battlefield 2 and you really need at least 1 Gig of RAM to play on medium settings and 1.5 - 2 Gig to play higher settings.
