What type of agp slot do i have and what wattage is my power supply? I have decided to get an ati radeon x1300 256 mb agp card, which supports 8x/4x agp. I am upgrading from a intel 32 mb pci card, so it will be a big improvement. I do have an agp slot. My question is, where do i look to find out what type of agp slot i have (2x, 4x or 8x)? Also, where do i look to find out how many watts my power supply is? Apparently it requires a 350 watt. Thank you all. Ok well i have a 4x agp slot and a steady-state 220 watt power supply. Guess i would need to get a new power supply before the upgrade. Thanks for your feedback.
How to find if my AGP slot is working or not? I havent touched my AGP slot from the time i bought my computer, that would be from the year 2001, so will my AGP slot work normally or is it gone forever?? Some people say that we can check it by seeing in the BIOS section, how? Thanks! and also is their alternate way of checking instead of placing a Graphic card in it.
How can I play World of Warcraft on a computer with no AGP slot? A friend got me hooked and I want to stop driving him nuts by sharing the computer. What's the difference between the Brown AGP slot, and the Black AGP? My fther-in-lawn told me his AGP card wouldn't fit into his computer. I didn't wan't to believe him, and insisted that if both system's have an AGP Slot, then the cards got to fit? I was wrong, He took the card out of a blown slot, and was trying to put it into a black one. No the black slot is not the old 8bit either, I do at least know what an AGP, PCI, Etc. look like?

If my GPU runs on an AGP slot, can I install a PCI GPU instead? I am looking to upgrade my GPU. My AGP slot only allows for the 4x transfer rate which eliminates alot of the cards on the market now. What I want to know, is if I can purchase a standard PCI graphics card and install it without any problems. My current GPU is 128mb, and apparently the max I can go is 256mb. I do have PCI slots in my computer. Standard PCI though, not PCI express. I realize it PCI express wouldn't work at all.

No Video signal Is it possible the AGP slot on the Motherboard is broken? I thought it was the Graphics Card so i swapped out for one I know works and still no video signal. The computer powers on and the CD drive opens and closes but no video signal. All fans are blowing so I know I am getting power just no video signal. Yes the Moniter works perfect on the other computer so I guess it's the Motherboard? I just don't want to replace the motherboard and find out it's something else. I already unhooked the board and put everything back in. Thought maybe a loose screw was behind the motherboard. The computer was fine for years before this. I just don't want to buy another Mother Board. Is there some way to find out if it's the AGP slot that's broken? Or am I just going to have to shell out for another MOBO. no all the software on the computer has there for a couple of years now. I thought I had a power problem because at first it didn't even power up and then I switched a power cord and it came on. But now it all powers on but no video so I swapped a new card just to see fi i could get a signal. Also how do I connect to onboard video???? could the bios info get lost???
