I know PCI Express is better, but I got this computer for free, so I'm going to make due (I don't play PC games often anyway). Basically I want it to play games that are out now on medium. What confuses me is the major price variations. The best card is almost $200 and the next best isn't even $100. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I only have single DVI, so could I use a dual link DVI card? Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.20 gHZ 2.19 gHZ, 3.24 GB of RAM

It'd be great if I could see some benchmarks!! (I've tried googling but am running out of patience from sifting through the mountain of pci-e) @ Jack G. Thanks I know AGP is rubbish but at the moment I don't want to have to upgrade my motherboard, only RAM, graphics and maybe processor. This will only be for light gaming not high spec.

best agp graphics card? I have a pc. I have a p4 3.2ghz ht and a little over 2 gb pc3200 ddr ram. I want to play Batman Arkham Asylum when it comes out and fallout 3. Batman has minimum requirements of 256mb video card, 512 recommended. Same for fallout 3. I don't want to upgrade the motherboard unless I can have my p4 478 in a new board and it has ide ports and pci-express since that seems to be the most popular type of video card. Are there any agp video cards that are 512mb and can run these games easily. I don't want it to lag, as little as possible basically. If I HAVE to or if its the cheapest way to get around it I will upgrade. I have a Gateway E6100 by the way. Points will be given for best answer, thanks!

What is the Best AGP Card Available that can run on my system? I need a new AGP graphics card to replace my old Radeon 9550SE. I have a budget up up to $400 I was wondering what the best one is for that price range. Intel Celeron(R) CPU 3.0g GHz 2 GB DDR 333 RAM 152 GB Hard Drive Radeon 9550SE 450 W Power Supply
What is the best AGP video card to replace my ATI Radeon 9600? I am looking to replace my outdated ATI Radeon 9600 AGP card with 128mb, with something faster and better. Here's my setup: Asus A7V8X-X motherboard AMD Athlon XP 2800 (2.4GHz) 1 GB RAM/ Windows XP Home SP2 160 GB Hard Drive And while I am open to trying Nvidia graphics cards, I'd prefer to stick with ATI if at all possible. Since I can't afford at this time to upgrade to the latest motherboard just to get PCI-E, I want to know which is the best AGP graphics card for games. Overall great performer. I don't want to go over $200, though. Thanks!
Best currently available AGP graphics card? As a holding measure until the new generation of AMD processors and ATI graphics cards are released, I am going to upgrade my AGP graphics card from a Sapphire x1650 Pro, which is a decent enough card to be fair, and wondered what the general concensus is on the current "best" available AGP card. I will spend up to about £200, and do prefer ATI products to NVidia, as I have always used ATI products, but that's not to say I wouldn't go for NVidia (other than NVidia only ports for DirectX, where as ATI actually uses it properly, apparently). I was looking at an x1950 Pro as an example. Keiron - absolutley, AGP is certainly on the way out, and once I can see the performance of the next-gen AMD processors, my whole system is getting upgraded, with a preference for Crossfire or SLI graphics capability. In the meantime, I'm stuck with my trusty ol' Athlon XP 3200 based system :) . There is a whole plethora of PCI-e cards that have been "ported" for AGP, the x1950 being one, and I will take a look at the NVidia card you suggest.. Appreciate your input. OK, been made aware of an outstanding AGP card, by Geforce, based on the x1950, but tweaked at factory giving blinding performance from a 48 pipline architecture. Oh, and it'll only cost £130. Sold!!
Best PCI-e or AGP graphics card for my wallet? Now, I want something to at least be able to SMOOTHLY play Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (GRAW 2) on medium settings But, I only got about $40 left to spend. What is the best PCI-E or AGP card to get that most would sell for cheap?
What's the best 4x AGP Graphics Card for under £40? Hey techie people, Okay, i'm a little out of my depth when it comes to graphics cards and the like, i'm fine installing new drives and that sorta thing, but figuring out which bit of kit is better than the other is beyond me. Info: Okay, i currently have an Asus A7A266 Motherboard, that comes with a AGP Pro/4x slot, and I think the card in there at the moment is a nVidia GeForce card with 32mb ram. I'd like to upgrade to something a bit more worthwhile... but is my Mobo too old for this, as it seems most AGP cards are now 8x... Okay, so there you go, please try and unconfuse me... any links to UK sellers for the recommended cards would be awesome. Thanks a million, Luke. Links: Asus A7A266 Mobo Manual http://www.paulduncan.org/files/a7a266-104.pdf The current Graphics Card (i think) http://www.shopping.com/xPR-Nvidia-20169756
Whats the easiest/best way to upgrade from an out of date AGP graphics card to a PCI-E card? I love PC gaming, but I know little about graphic cards, I litterally just did the research to find out that my PC most likely cant accept a PCI-E card, since there are very few motherboards that have an AGP slot, and a PCI-E, im using a Ge-force fx 5200 or something like that, its been awhile since I looked at it, heh.. Anyways though was wondering if I should just get a new comp alltogether, or buy a PCI-E motherboard for my current PC, im not overly knowledgable on PC's but I have installed/swapped out a few pieces of hardware between several PC's on my own.

Will a 128MB AGP graphics card perform better than a 256MB PCI card? I want to verify whether a lower MB AGP card is still better than a higher MB PCI card. By "better" I mean faster image processing, and better looking graphics. Will it be able to handle higher video settings better? I just want to clarify that I DO mean PCI, and not PCI-E.

What is a good AGP graphics card to complement Vista? I never had Vista but I tried it out on a older computer. It is a 2.5ghz P4, so that part should be fine, but it rated the graphics card pretty bad. It's a Nvidia 5500, and I only have a AGP slot. Is there a card that someone can suggest that's a good card, for Vista and slight gaming for a good price? Thanks!!
What can i do with my old AGP Graphics card if i want to upgrade my motherboard? I bought a new 512mb AGP graphics card to help out an older system. but now i feel the lag of only 1gb of supported RAM, and a single core processor. i want to upgrade my motherboard and CPU, but I don't want to have to buy another card. is there any new boards with AGP? or some sort of AGP adaptor for PCI-E? cheapest idea would be the best.
How do I tell if an AGP graphics card supports 1.5V or requires a higher voltage? I need to get an AGP video card for my computer, it won't allow PCI-Express. The motherboard manual says the AGP slot only allows 1.5V AGP graphics cards. How do I tell if a card accepts that if I am looking in the store or on the internet. Could someone please point out a good graphics card that would support this? I want to play cool games and watch tv on the computer and be able to edit video. My computer manufacturer says the ASUS K8V-MX motherboard will only accept 1.5V AGP cards, nothing higher. The computer is a Mirus Innovations computer. The details on the card specs are not listing the voltage they will accept.

Whats a good modern AGP graphics card? I have a friend with a oldish MOBO. I need to put a relatively modern graphics card for him, something to play call of duty 2 to 6 on the lower settings would be fine. The catch is, it only has a AGP slot other then 2 PCI slots. Does anyone have a suggestion. The only thing i can find is a GeForce 6 series card atm.
What is a good agp graphics card? Ok, so I have an AGP and all the newer video cards are DDR what are some good AGP cards? I need something over 256 with at least 2.0 pixel shading. I am not looking to spend a fortune and I only have a 1.89 ghz processor so I need something that wont be choppy with that.
can I use AGP graphics card on PCI EX16 slot? I bought a new PC with a P5N73-AM Asus motherboard and it doesn't have an AGP Graphics slot. I have an ATI Radeon 9550 AGP card with 256MB and would like to use it instead of on board graphics capabilities. How can I do it? Thank you in advance. Kaze
How Do I Fit An AGP Graphics Card? I am thinking of buying a new graphics card for my pc, but I don't wnat to buy i t and not know how to fit it! So how do I do it? Do i have to open up the case of my computer? Does it slot in the back? Remember it is AGP. (my motherboard does not take PCI-E cards) :(
Is there any way to use a PCI Express graphics card in a AGP motherboard? I was wondering if there is any way to fit a PCI express graphics card into a motherboard designed for AGP cards. Is there a convertor or something? Is there performance implications - I realise it won't be as good as putting into PCI motherboard but would it acyually make much difference. Wife bought it for me without checking and don't really have cash to shell out for new board/processor.
