ATI Graphics card drivers help? My friend was having trouble with a game so he decided to email the creaters and ask for help (graphical issue) . They told him to update his ATI graphics card to the latest version and when he installed the drivers and restarted his computer this random message popped up saying that there were files missing, he has tried to system restore but it doesn't work and now every time he logs on his computer is in 8 bit with the lowest resolution with that same message. Anyone got any ideas ? sorry cant post his specs

Updating ATI HD 4650 graphics card drivers? I've been trying to update my GFX card but unfortunately I haven't been able to find the right drivers. On ATI's homepage I found only drivers for 4600 and 4700 it totally skipped 4650. I'm using Windows Vista 64x. Thanks in advance. Oh and another side-question: I seem to have 2 GFX cards for some reason..? On ATI catalyst center there is "ATI HD 4650" and "ATI HD 3200 Graphics" could someone tell me the difference of these two?

I can't get my Linux system to accept proprietary drivers for my ATI graphics card; any suggestions? It had worked fine before on the same Linux system, but I took off the system to briefly install XP to update the bios---and since then, it will only use the open source drivers. The bios update is the correct one, by the way; I was certain to check it well before upgrading. I have tried everything I can think of, but it positively will not use the proprietary drivers. Any suggestions?

Installing ATI Graphics card.? i have a toshiba satellite pro A210, i got a new hard drive and i am trying to install the A210 graphics card driver that i downloaded from the toshiba site but when i extract the zip folder i get an error: data1.cab the file is corrupt and because of this the installation says that the file is corrupt so it wont install properly then when i reeboot my system i get an error: No ati graphics driver is installed, or the ATI Driver is not functioning properly. Please install the ATI driver appropriate for your ATI hardware. Why is it saying the file is corrupt? Yer it was a Zip file, just like i said and it is the right one because i got it from the toshiba website under Satellite pro A210 and i cant find anywhere else to download it from i understand what you mean about the .cab files not, they were associated with winrar so i unassociated them with it. i had a beter look at the error and it said that data1.cab in drivers was corrupt or missing and the data1.cab is missing, there is a data1.hdr but not .cab... there is however a data1.cab in the display driver ATI folder

ATi Radeon Graphics card driver problem? I was trying to update my drivers for my Ati Radeon 2600 series for 32-bit windows vista. I (as reccomended) uninstalled the original driver using the Radeon program. The graphics then went funny, as they do, but then when I installed the new driver it said it was all done, and rebooted fine but the graphics were still odd, I checked dxdiag and it said that there was no driver available. I tried twice to install it but is still not there. Help? Please?

Trouble installing ATI 1300X graphics card to T6420 Emachine? I have a 2006 emachine T6420 with an nVidia IGP standard with this model. I would like to install an ATI 1300X 256 DDR2 graphics card in the PCI express slot. After multiple attempts and speaking with "Tech's" from both Gateway & ATI I am still having problems. The machine doesn't even recognize that I have new hardware plugged into the PCI slot. When I uninstall the nVidia graphics drivers using driver clean up I am still not able to install the ATI catalyst driver suite. Error: No driver or hardware is installed even though it is. I have upgraded to a 400A power supply but not sure if that is enougy or if this would cause the system to not recognize the new graphics card. Please help!

graphics card issues with an ATI graphics card? So i just installed windows 7 and downloaded the latest graphics card driver. My graphics card is a ATI mobility radeon HD 3670 Well the problem i have is when i try to play a game it is missing about 2 inches from the left and right side of my screen. So the game does not take up my whole screen. Well it does take up my whole screen but the 2 inches missing are solid black. If anyone could give me any information on how to fix this it would really be appreciated. well when i had windows vista i did not have this problem with the games and it does this with all games i play like monopoly. i messed up so bad sorry for the poor explanation i should have mentioned my computer was a notebook a dell xps 1640 to be exact.

About 3 weeks ago I got a new computer, and ever since then whenever I turn on my computer, i get this message: The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager. Ok so that message pops up every time I turn on my computer and up until now, I could just press OK and be done with it until the next time I turned on my computer. I play the game World of Warcraft and this computer is amazing for it. It has a quad core processor, each an Intel(R) Core (TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67 GHz, 6 gigs of ram and originally came with an ATI Radeon HD 4350 video card. My old computer had a better one though, an NVIDIA GeForce9500 GT. All of this is a sweet set up for a gamer, as I always get max frames per second (60 or so in WoW). Now I can't stress enough that now I am using the NVIDIA graphics card, and ATI Radeon is GONE. I took that one out and replaced it with the NVIDIA yet im still getting an error about the ATI one. I'm super confused why I was getting an error message about a video card that I don't have anymore to begin with, but I ignored it for a while. Now however, when I play WoW, I have periods of about 30-45 seconds where my frame rate drops down to between 2-5 frames per second. This seems to happen about every 3-5 minutes and has happened more and more frequently as time goes on. Today I'd say that its almost a 50% uptime of having horrible frames. This is a brand new computer and the only thing I can thing that I can think of is that it's something to do with that error that I posted up top. Ive done everything I can think of. I went and downloaded the updated ATI driver just to humor it, I have searched endlessly for something called a "Displays Manager" without success and I've also just tried to wait the problem out. There is nothing downloading in the background, the frames per second happen in all scenarios in game, and like I said, the crap frames only last for about 40 sec at a time before it pops back to normal 60. The error message every time I start up my computer isn't what's truly bothering me. What's bothering me is my frames. This is a brand new computer, I shouldn't be having these problems and it's going to affect how well I can play it. If you think that what's happening in game and that error message I'm getting are a coincidence and you have an idea of how to fix my frame rate, please tell, but my money is betting that they're related, and if you have any idea how to make this warning go away, please do share. Ive spent hours on google searching for solutions to the errror message above, and most people say that it gets fixxed when they update the driver, yet my problem is that updating a driver for something that I'm not using isnt helping me. Please, do prevent me from having a stroke and help me solve this, much appreciated. ps this is the 3rd time ive posted this on yahoo answers, and something i failed to explain well is how I cant UNINSTALL the ati driver from my device manager because when i go under display adapters, it shows my CURRENT graphics card, my nvidia, not the one that everyone is telling me to uninstall.

I have Windows Vista 64bit, and a ATI graphics card. Random static noises every few min. randomly?!? I keep hearing these random static burst noises that last for a second or two, and happen every couple of minutes whenever i'm playing music or videos {basically anything sound related] I've tried updating the graphics card drivers in case that was the problem and so far, its still happening. I just got the computer this year, so the jacks should still be good, and the audio cable i'm using is new also. [yes, it's plugged in right.] i'm just looking for possible sources other than faulty hardware, and if thats the case, is this a problem i can fix cheaply or easily?

Computer WITHOUT Graphics Card? Can I operate my HP Pavilian 513x WITHOUT the graphics card? I have an old computer with an ATI graphics card for which I cannot find the updated drivers (I have been in contact with ATI and the drivers just are not available anymore). I'm trying to install XP Home w/ Service Pack 2 however it will not install as it reports non-compatability with the graphics card drivers. Can I just recover the operating system completely and remove the graphics card and just operate the computer until I can buy a new graphics card?

OS Name: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 Motherboard: Intel Dual Core @ 2.8GHz RAM: 1.99GB Disk Capacity for system drive: 97.65GB (partitioned) ,,,, TOTAL: 150GB Monitor: Philips 190CW *Using a 32-Bit Display ----------------------------------------------------- the main problem is, when i turned off the monitor ONLY (not the computer), the computer/CPU suddenly restarts when it became idle or not being used for about 5 minutes... i've disabled the "Power Options Properties" and switched all to "Never" turn off the monitor or hard disk.... had uninstalled the old driver version then cleaned the registry and removed all ATI components... then installed the latest driver and catalyst version,,,, then had tried checking and unchecking "Enable VPU Recover" in Catalyst Control Center,,,, but still, this computer suddenly does!!!!! errrrrr!!! I knew that the computer had restarted because i've monitored it then when i turned on the monitor,,, the welcome screen or Intel photo appears (like you were just turning on the computer). I've installed the newest video driver because the old one keeps giving error messages everytime also this computer is idle..... Pleeeeaaaasssssssse somebody heeeeeelp!!!!! UPDATE: Marh 1, 2009: Finally my computer is fixed now... :-) I've just replaced the monitor with Samsung SyncMaster 923W. Thus to some of you out there who might be also experiencing this problem, try to replace your monitor.... It might be just a matter of hardware compatibilty between your "video graphics card" and the monitor. :D

ATI Graphics Card stopped working after Win XP Pro SP2 Reinstall? This all started when I decided to install CCleaner. I ran the scan and it deleted some windows important files so my computer wouldn't boot afterwards. I had to reinstall windows xp pro sp2 and now all of my softwares stopped functioning and the one which is annoying me the most is my graphics card. I want to keep sp2 and I don't want sp3 because the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Sound doesn't install correctly. Even on the sp2 the sound doesn't work. ok lets go back to what i was saying about my graphics card. It is an ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series. When I try to update or install the driver it tell me that it couldn't find my graphics card hardware. Here is some things I did: Delete regedit ATI files Delete ATI computer files Reboot And update from the ati amds site reboot and install ati drivers from CD Whatever I do it tells me that there is no ati hardware. I do not have a display or video or graphics thing in my device manager. Some help for this would be GREATLY appreciated.

Is it my illusion or are the latest graphics card drivers 10.2 causing worser game performance? I updated with latest graphics card drivers as well as catalyst for my Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4890 Over-clocked and I am experiencing worser performance with my PC games than I have before. I used before that the 9-12 drivers and they seem to be much better. I didn't have lag that much with Crysis. Also I notice that the game appears to stutter in NBA 2K10 while passing the ball to my opponent. Just Cause 2 Demo as well not as smooth as the previous ATI drivers. Tested FPS performance with Resident Evil 5 and now im getting only 60 FPS on max setting where as with older driver when I compared the results I had 90 FPS. So yeah I can actually see the bad performances with the latest drivers. I also heard bad news about the latest drivers causing problems with Battlefield Bad Company 2 from numerous forums including official EAs forums. So obviously im not gonna attempt to play BC2 with the latest drivers. Can anyone actually recommend me which are the best ati drivers from the older versions that cause the least troubles? Thanks!

Can I switch to an Nvidia with no problem or conflicts, or should I get another ATI card that is better?

Is there a way to check your graphics card? My friend needs to know what kind of graphics card he has but he cant figure out how. The driver for the card was deleted or something happened to it. Checking device manager proves nothing because the driver isn't there. He knows he has an ATI type of card but there are 4000 different types of drivers for an ATI graphics card. Why is my ATI graphics card making everything darker? I have a 1 gig radeon HD 4350, it doesnt display lighting correctly and i have tried adjusting the brightness using catalyst control center with no results. if i turn the brightness up too high it looks white -_- my built in graphics card had no problems with lighting and it was only around 280mb. also all the latest drivers are installed so umm what could be causing this?

I need help! My graphics card (ATI RADEON 9800) isn't working! Any advice? I've been trying to load games on my computer, mainly Sims 2. I've downloaded all the most recent drivers for the card, DirectX 9.0c and Microsoft net framework 2. I know my computer meets all the requirements to play the game and I’ve downloaded patches from the Sims2 website too. When loading the game I get two error messages. "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed all the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate." OR "VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands." After this second error it lets you send an automatic error report. I've done that a few times. What do I need to get it working? (If I'm not only contact me on IM) The card is inside the computer. I failed all the DXDIAG display tests. :(

My monitor turns off when I set the graphics card ATI X1550 to anything higher than basic VGA mode. Any ideas? The screen first goes blank as if its to apply new settings, and then it turns off after about 5 seconds. It's a new system I've put together. I've installed the motherboard drivers, and everything else works fine. The graphics card is Gecube X1550 128mb PCI-E. I've downloaded and installed the drivers for it from their web site, and they are the right drivers. Am I not doing something right, or is it a faulty graphics card?

The ATI drivers are much newer (last month) but seem to be more generic to the whole Radeon HD 4800 series where... the MSI drivers are older (just over a year old) but are specific to my Radeon HD 4850 card.

Installing graphics card ATI X1300? Ok, first my specs... I have an E-machines T3092 1gig PC-2700 ram On-board Nvidia MX 64MB graphics card AMD 64(single core) I have been through tech support with ATI and E-machines both for much to long. First I talked to ATI, they stated I had some windows malfunction so I reinstalled my OS, followed the step by step instructions on how to install the AGP graphics card, I made sure I downloaded all drivers/chipsets for my E-machines and disabled my on-board graphics card before I installed the ATI card. The installation for the drivers for the ATI card was no problem. I rebooted to have everything take effect. I tried playing "Alien Shooter 2 Vengeance" and "Dynasty Warriors 4 Hyper" that was easily played using my on-board graphics card, and on Alien Shooter the screen turns black for 3 seconds and then kicks me back to the desktop while Dynasty tell me I dont have the latest DirectX3D software, yet I have installed DirectX lastest version. Whats going on? Please help! x.x I have already gone into my Bios and set it to recognize the AGP slot on my motherboard as the primary graphics card. I have already reinstalled games(hence reinstalling OS several times then having to reinstall the games again) DirectX is up to date, the newest drivers for the graphics card are installed. After updating my graphics card drivers, I cant click on anything on my desktop? I recently tried to update my drivers for my ati sapphire 3850 1 gig gddr2 graphics card and everything went smooth until I rebooted my computer. As the system went to the desktop, I noticed I couldn't click on anything. About 3 weeks before this, I did a prank on my dad where you take a picture of the desktop and the next person who uses it thinks they are clicking on an icon but they are clickin on a picture. Now that you know what my desktop looks like, here is where the real problem started. The fake desktop picture gets loaded no problem. I wait for my backgrounds(I have dual monitors) on both monitors to load but nothing happens. My hdd led light isnt kicking on so im guessing it finished loading. I cant click on anything and I tried to use the window button on my keyboard to pull up the start menu(most of my important files are in my documents) and I attempt to go to my documents but nothing happened. I pull up task manager to see if there was anything unusual in one of the windows but nothing that I could see. I put my thumbstick drive in to see if it would pull up, nothing. I stick a cd in, nothing. All I downloaded the drivers for a was to play a game and the drivers needed updated anyhow so I went to the website and go the file, installed it, rebooted and the problem occured. Any help?!?!? I cant even get my start menu to pull up. I will try to take my graphics card out, clean it a bit, and stick it back in.

When i switch on my laptop, the past 2 days i have been getting this 'The ATI driver failed to initialize because no driver is installed or the ATI driver is not working properly. Help, trying to update my graphics card drivers!? So I've discerned that the reason some things show up funny in my sim's 2 game is due to my graphics card. I have a ATI Radeon X1250 with version 7.14.0010.0489 (so is that version 4.89? I dunno) and the date on it is 3/14/2007. We bought this computer in March (2008) so...it's not that old. Can anyone help me with an ATI graphics card problem? I am a big Sims fan & ever since I got my laptop, I have been playing it on here. About 6 months ago, every time I inserted The Sims 2 disc, the screen turned blue & the computer shut itself down. It wouldn't switch on again until the disc had been removed. It was really sudden & left me confused. Another issue which arose at the same time was when I tried to watch YouTube videos in full screen. The same thing happened. The screen turned blue & the computer shut itself down. I rang up EA to try & figure out the problem & spoke to several experts who concluded that my graphics card was still using the 2005 driver, therefore out of date & I would need to update it, if I wanted to play The Sims 2. My graphics card is the ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Series. I found the appropriate driver update online & downloaded the installation wizard. All of this worked fine, with no problems. I completed the installation wizard & finished it, where it said that the driver had been installed successfully. I restarted my computer, as instructed & tried to play the game. It still didn't work. I checked the properties of my graphics card & it still said 2005! I have tried again several times since then, each time finding that the drivers claim to have been successfully installed & then checking to see that they haven't been updated from 2005. I don't know what to do! And any Sims fan will know just how addictive it is. Not being able to play it is driving me crazy! Help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks.

Graphics card driver, imports but fails to install? Ok, I have a Dell Precision 370 with an ATI FireGL V3100 graphics card. Recently the HDD spindle started to go and I bought a new HDD and rebuilt the sys(XP, it needed the rebuild). The problem is no matter what I do I cannot install the drivers(Primary and secondary). I had the same problem with the old HDD in trying to update them. As default its running on shitty Generics. I remove all the drivers, and try install the new ones. It imports them but EVERY time as soon as the install wizard boots the whole machines freezes and must be manually booted down. I've tried drivers from multiple sources including Dell, the Dell driver disk, ATI (AMD) themselves and others. Same problem every time. I really need those drivers for video editing. PC hangs when playing a game with a new graphics card driver? i have a connect3d ati radeon 9550 video card with 128mb mem. 128-bit. My prob is this, before i installed a new video driver, my games are working fine(warcraft III, red alert 2, etc..). I installed a new graphics driver from http://ati.amd.com because they said that i will have a better performance for my video card. When i installed it, i tried to play my usual pc games but before even completing the loading of the games my pc hangs and i have to reset it to get back to normal. Several of my games were saying i needed to update my drivers, so i went to the ATI website and downloaded what they said was the correct driver. After i restarted my computer, the screen shows only the most basic colors. i tried system restore twice with no results. i went into control panel and checked my color settings. it wont let me set it to anything other than 4-bit colors!!! please help ATI customer support is a joke.
